Publications, Documents and Bibliography

During the past 10/15 years, the efforts of NGOs, bilateral and multilateral agencies, to assist in supporting small and medium enterprise development have produced a number of lessons learned and best practices now available as documents, reports and publications. This page lists and rates electronic resources related to publications in the field of enterprise development.

IDB's Publications
Publications of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) in the areas of environment and natural resources, social programs, financial markets and infrastructure, indigenous people and community development, microenterprise and women in development. The documents are presented in five categories: Best Practices and Guidelines; Working Papers, Background Papers and Technical Studies; Strategies and Policies; Books and Magazines; and Newsletters.

Finance & Development
Finance & Development is published on the Web, quarterly in English, by the International Monetary Fund and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development. Even though you have to order (and pay) some of the publications, what is available on site makes it an essential reading.

UNIDO's Industrial Development Abstracts Database
The IDA contains over 21,000 fully indexed abstracts of UNIDO documentation and includes descriptions of major studies and reports, reports resulting from UNIDO's technical assistance activities, reports and proceedings of expert working groups, workshops and seminars, and publications in series.

OECD on-line documents
From the OECD a series of interesting on-line documents in pdf format. Of particular interest is the one on "SMEs and electronic commerce".
