DFN is designed to enhance communication among researchers, donor employees, and policy makers who are interested in developing financial markets, especially in low-income, or in formerly centrally planned countries. The Network is sponsored by the Rural Finance Group at The Ohio State University and the Marketing and Credit Service Office of FAO in Rome, Italy. The following uses of DFN are suggested: (1) to announce meetings, seminars, and conferences that may be of interest to DFN members; (2) to provide information on new publications and policies; (3) to alert members to ongoing research; and (4) to allow members to exchange questions and answers about development finance. From time-to-time the sponsors will compile and distribute a list of network members and their e-mail addresses.
