Divided into eight sections : Starting Up, Managing, Expanding, EU Market, Research & Innovation, Responsible Business, Finance & Support, Exit Strategy, it provides multilingual practical information and online government services for companies looking for business in another country. Excellent site.
In Verksamt.se , which defines itself as the Swedish Business Link to Government, three Swedish government agencies have brought together and structured information and services of value to the small entrepreneur. The site is divided in five sections : Considering, Starting, Running, Developing, Closing Down which correspond to the life cycle of an entreprise. Excellent and extremely well designed site which is a pleasure to use. It might not contain all the answers but it certainly put the new entrepreneur on the right track.
Coordinated by the Ministry of Employment and the Economy, Enterprise Finland is an online service that provides information about the kind of assistance available to companies or entrepreneurs for establishing and developing their business. The site is divided in 6 sections corresponding to the life cycle of an enterprise. For each section general information is provided as well as links to further details including country and economic data. Excellent site well organized and rich with useful information.
Swedish Entrepreneurship Forum
The Swedish Entrepreneurship Forum's objective is to provide a natural knowledge platform for decision makers at all levels of the public and private sector in the field of entrepreneurship and small enterprise development. The Forum aims to provide a bridge between theory and practice through Research, Network and Debate. Very interesting site. Do not miss the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor report and the extremely interesting report « Evolutionary Views on Entrepreneurial Processes ».
The Research Institute of Industrial Economics (IFN) is a private and independent Swedish foundation doing research in the field of economics. Three of their four research areas are particularly interesting : the Economics of Entrepreneurship, Globalisation and Corporate Restructuring, Economics of the Service Sector. Very interesting site particularly the section on publications where working papers can be downloaded. Do not miss the working papers « Hybrid Entrepreneurship » and « Using Self-Employment as a Proxy for Entrepreneurship ».
Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency
The Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency (NFIA) is a division of the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs which has been setup to facilitate American companies' direct investments in the Netherlands. It provides information and practical assistance free of charge to potential investors. A clear, very well designed informative site. However their investment news publication section appears to be falling behind (1998).

As part of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark, Invest in Denmark is a customized one-stop service for foreign companies looking to set up business or research activities in Denmark. The site presents the advantages of setting up a business in Denmark, explains the procedures to follow, etc. Very good site. You can also download factsheets on the Danish labour market, Taxation, hiring local employees, etc.
Trade Station Finland
Trade Station Finland is a business information service promoting east-west trade via Finland. Its main value added is the extensive set of links with regards to Russia.
