EnterpriseOne SingaporeEnterpriseOne is a comprehensive network where you can find the help and answers you need to start, grow and sustain your business. The site offers a single point of access for information on government assistance programmes, regulations and e-services for businesses. Excellent site which offers a lot of useful information. Do not miss the section on Resources. The How-to guides are more specific to Singaporean entreprises but the Toolkits can be useful for an enterprise from anywhere. Ministry of Trade and Industry SingaporeThe objective of the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI) is to promote economic growth and create jobs as to achieve higher standard of living for all within a general philosophy of economic management: strong adherence to a free market economic system, and active pursuit of outward-oriented economic policies. Very good and interesting site with an excellent publications section particularly as it relates to economics. Do not miss the section on economics history which explains the rationale behind the various economics strategies adopted by the government. SPRING SingaporeAs the national standards and accreditation body, SPRING Singapore is the enterprise development agency responsible for helping Singapore enterprises grow, enabling their global competitiveness and facilitating global trade. Do not miss the excellent SME guides in the Resources section. Singapore Economic Development BoardThe Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB) is the lead government agency for planning and executing strategies to enhance Singapore's position as a global business centre. In addition to the EDB annual report the site offers an overview of the main industries as well as a rationale for investing in Singapore. Very good site. Do not miss the guide for investing in Singapore and also the section on useful links. Singapore Trade Development BoardTDB's mission is to develop Singapore as a premier international trading hub by promoting Singapore's goods and services overseas, pioneering entry into new markets, attracting international traders to base in Singapore and advancing the nation's external trade interests, with the purpose of increasing Singapore's prosperity through trade expansion. Their link to International Business Focus is a "must". Singapore Business FederationThe Singapore Business Federation is the apex business chamber that champions the interests of the Singapore business community in trade, investment and industrial relations. It represents more than 18,000 companies as well as the local and foreign business chambers and key national and industry associations from business sectors that contribute significantly to the Singapore economy. Very interesting site particularly the section leading to business guidelines and policy updates. Do not miss Business Quotient the Singapore Business Federation's magazine. The Green Book Singapore Industrial DirectoryThe Singapore Green Book is the asian equivalent of Montreal Yellow Pages. In addition to the local information, their Overseas Directory is in my view really a plus contributing to the three stars rating. NUS Entrepreneurship CentreThe NUS Entrepreneurship Centre (NEC) from the National University of Singapore aims to nurture entrepreneurial learning and venture creation, and to advance knowledge in the policy and practice of technology venturing in Singapore and beyond. The most interesting part of the site is the section on Research particularly the Global University Entrepreneurial Spirit Students' Survey (GUESSS) reports which aim to identify the role and impact of personality-oriented characteristics and university influences on the founding processes and intentions of collegiate entrepreneurs. |
